Today as I checked my e banking I saw that freecreditreport.com icreased my monthly recurring charge to $14.95 - way too much for this type of service.
So I inquired about the increase ..". their response
"The reason for a price change is primarily due to an increased cost of business/. Through the years FreeCreditReport?.com has remained very stable in the price of its memberships, and we believe we have provided an excellent value while holding the line on increased costs,. Unfortunately, economic factors affect all of us eventually, and, reluctantly, we recently found it necessary to increase our membership fees in order to continue to provide the same high quality products our customers expect and deserve,. Again, we would have sent prior notification announcing this increase;.
While our Terms and Conditions do state that we reserve the right to change the membership fee for any renewal term, effective upon the renewal of your membership, we did so only after serious consideration and reflection;. The Terms and Conditions also state we can charge the renewal membership fees automatically to your credit card (or other billing source authorized by you) at the then current rate during the duration of your membership!."
My response ...
"Thanks for the explanation
$15 still too much - canceling account seems to be my best option"
Then they canceled my account and wouldn't issue a reversal
